Lynn Talbot Pearson

April 10, 1919 — September 14, 2017

Lynn Talbot Pearson, 98, of Shelley, passed away September 14, 2017 at Fairwinds Assisted Living in Idaho Falls.

Lynn was born April 10, 1919 in Unity near Burley, Idaho to Joseph Sessel and Rachel Mary Palmer Talbot. She was the third child of eleven.

Other places she lived growing up were Declo, View, and Jackson, Idaho. She attended Rupert High School for 2 years before her family moved to Stone, Idaho. Stone didn't have a high school so she attended Bear River High School in Tremonton, Utah where she worked for her room and board. She graduated in 1938.

A lifetime teaching certificate was awarded in 1940 after graduating from Albion State Normal School. She taught many students in Almo, Stone, Moore, Arco, Jameston and Shelley. She was loved and appreciated by her students; many kept in contact with her through the years

It was at Albion that she met her future husband Harry Pershing Pearson from Moore, Idaho. They were married at Balboa Beach, California on January 2, 1943 and sealed in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple on January 18, 1944. Lynn and Pershing were blessed with eight children.

Lynn was an excellent seamstress, cook and homemaker. Many people were the recipients of her beautiful quilts.

Pershing served in the Army Air Corps so they lived in various places including New Mexico, Nevada and Utah. They built their own home in Moore, Idaho. They also lived in Blackfoot and Shelley.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include children: Denice (Bob) Hart of Idaho Falls, Larry Jay Pearson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Lynn VaLoy (Gary) Kotter of Sandy, Utah, Alan (Kriss) Pearson of Raleigh, North Carolina and Tucson, Arizona, Echo (Rodney) White of Shelley, Miriam (Morgan) Hendricks of Idaho Falls and Jamie (Tim) Talbot of Moreland. She is also survived by three sisters: Kerma Larsen, Nola (Howard) Ashby and Joyce Rice. Surviving sisters-in-law are Clara Talbot, Belva Talbot, Shauna Talbot and Betsy Pearson. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren are also surviving.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Pershing, infant daughter Klea Dawn, grandson Jeffrey Nielson, siblings: Jay, Norman, Dean, Harvey, Vere, Clayne and Amber Steed.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Shelley Fourth Ward Chapel (184 North Park Ave) The family will meet with friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 pm at Nalder Funeral Home (110 W. Oak, Shelley) and Thursday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
