Maria Esther Santillian de Yanez

March 13, 1962 — February 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria, a devoted mother, beloved wife, sister, cherished grandmother, and friend, who left us on February 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Maria was a strong and courageous fighter, facing life’s challenges with a beautiful spirit that shone both inside and out.

Maria is survived by her husband that she shared 44 years of marriage with Pedro Yañez Flores, and her 3 children Abel(Shonntel), Esther(Goyo), and Pedro(Jen). Her grandchildren, Natea, Abel, Brody, and Paxton.

Her mother, Irma Vázquez de Santillan, and siblings Saul Santillan, Roberto Santillian, Nina Vázquez, Sonia Sommercorn, Irma Evelia Vázquez, Patricia Murillo, Juan Santillan and many nieces and nephews.

Born to bring joy and love into this world, Maria cherished her family above all. Maria's unwavering dedication as a mother gave rise to a sense of unity and joy within the family, creating a home filled with laughter and love.

As a loving wife to her husband Pedro, she exemplified commitment and warmth in every moment they shared. Their partnership was a testament to unconditional love, mutual support, and cherished memories.

She was a devoted mother, and her children were her pride and joy, instilling in them the values of compassion, integrity, and kindness. Her heart expanded further as she embraced her role as a grandmother; her grandchildren were the true lights of her life, and she loved them more than words can express.

Maria was a giver in every sense, finding joy in cooking for those she loved, creating delicious meals that filled hearts and stomachs alike. Her laughter and beautiful smile was infectious, and her fun spirit always brought joy to family gatherings. Whether engaging in her favorite word searches, gardening, or sharing in coloring activities, in each simple moment, she brought people together with her generosity and warmth. In her garden, she found peace and a profound connection to nature, nurturing plants much like she nurtured her loved ones.

Maria believed deeply in the power of love, always seeing the best in everyone around her. Her kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind memories filled with laughter and love. She had a unique way of making each person feel valued, and those fortunate enough to know her will carry her spirit forward. Her infectious laughter and gentle spirit will be dearly missed.

Though she has left this mortal coil, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends — forever cherished and always missed. We will remember her laughter, her nurturing spirit, and the beautiful soul that she shared with us all.

A celebration of her beautiful life and spirit will be held at her home on Sunday, February 9, 2025, where friends and family are welcome between 12-4. We invite all who were touched by her generous heart to join us in honoring her legacy and share loving memories.

In loving memory of Maria, who taught us to love deeply, to embrace joy, and to live life fully. We love you, we miss you, and we will carry your beautiful spirit with us always. The impact you have made on our lives is immeasurable. Until we meet again.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
