Our loving and much loved mother, grandmother, and friend, Marilyn Sue Scott of Orem, Utah and former Shelley resident, passed away September 23, 2010 at Bel Aire Assisted Living in American Fork, Utah. She had just celebrated her 71
st
birthday 19 days before.
She was born September 4, 1939 in Dumas, Texas to Blanch and William Munn. We are comforted knowing she has finally joined them.
She married her eternal companion and sparing partner, Dr. David E. Scott on January 7, 1961, they were later sealed in the St. George Temple on September 14, 1961.
Marilyn spent a long, respected, and fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse, serving in nursing units ranging from mental health to dialysis.
In her later years, she and her husband served a mission in the Cincinnati, Ohio Mission.
She is survived by her husband, David of Orem, UT; five children: Yon of Idaho Falls, ID; Brian (Linda) of Cheyenne, WY; Neill (Laurie) of Orem, UT; Ameila (Patrick) Maass and Melissa (Alexander) Gontcharov both of West Valley, UT; sister, Mollie (Dr. Thomas) Told of Craig, CO; as well as eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Sonny Boy Munn.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday September 28, 2010 at the Shelley Stake Center (325 East Locust). The family will receive friends Monday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) and Tuesday morning 9:30 till 10:45 A.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. Because of Marilyn’s love for flowers the family welcomes arrangements at the services.
