Maurine Collins

Maurine Collins, 84, of Shelley passed away September 4, 2011 at Idaho Falls Care and Rehab Center under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.

Maurine was born November 8, 1926 in Ucon, Idaho to Ralph Washington Farnsworth and Hilda Ann Byram.

She attended school in Ucon and graduated from Ucon High School. On October 12, 1947, she married Charles Raymond Collins in Ucon, Idaho. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

During World War II, she worked at Boeing in Seattle, Washington.  Maurine also waitressed in Sun Valley and Idaho Falls, and worked for Robert Wright in his popcorn and candy concession business. After raising her family she attended the Vogue Beauty School and then worked as a beautician. Upon retirement she and Ray traveled South for the winters. She loved fishing and golfing. Maurine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Ann (Kent) Martin of Port Angeles, WA; her son Gary Raymond Collins of Shelley;  3 brothers Joseph Robert (Colleen) Farnsworth of Brigham City, UT; Edward Darrell (Mary Jane) Farnsworth of Ucon; and Kenneth W. (Jan) Farnsworth of Kearney, MO; 5 sisters Elizabeth Ann (Don) Carlson of Sandy, UT; Ramona (Harold) Excell of Salt Lake City, UT; Genevieve (Gerry) Cleverly of Osgood; Elaine Chapman of Twin Falls; and Donnetta Louise Wright of Idaho Falls. 5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and brothers Byran LeRoy Farnsworth; and Ralph Jay Farnsworth; and brothers-in-law Warren Chapman and Robert Wright.

Graveside services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 8, 2011 at the Taylor Cemetery. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements are under the Direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hands of Hope Hospice, 1379 E. 17th Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho 83401.
