Mildred "Mickey" Kendrick

August 6, 1924 — October 27, 2010

Mildred Anderson Kendrick passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010. She was 86.

Mickey was born Aug. 6, 1924 in Jameston, Idaho; she had good fortune from the start, being born to the kindest of parents – Randall Lewis and Edna Harker Anderson. She grew up and attended schools in Shelley, graduating from Shelley High School in 1942.

While working at Ft. Douglas, Utah near the end of WWII, she had another stroke of good luck; she met J. E. “Ted” Kendrick. They were married in 1946 and spent the following 60 years together. They had five sons.

Mickey spent her years raising her boys, serving in the Church, caring for her own mother, traveling with Ted, and generally having a good time doing it all. She and Ted served two missions together for the LDS Church – in 1993 and 2000 – both in Palmyra, NY.

She was always concerned for her children and grandchildren and hoped for their success. Their opinion is that she worried too much about them.

The people she leaves behind include four sons – Randall (Ilene) of Shelley; Terry of Augusta, GA; Robert (Mauri) of Idaho Falls and Jack (Tonja) of Highland, UT; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces; and many dear friends here and abroad.

Family members who departed before her and with whom she is enjoying a fine reunion include her parents; her husband; her son, Scott; and all five of her siblings – Wanda, Rex, Beulah, Arlan and Ken. Forthcoming reunion plans for the rest of us are pending.

Visitation with family and friends will take place at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31 and again from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. the following day at the church. We will celebrate her life at services to be held on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shelley 10

th

Ward chapel in Woodville, ID. (1555 N. 700 E.).  Her earthly remains will be laid to rest beside Ted at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley.
