Nancy Jane Nead

Nancy Anderson Nead was born at Eaton Maternity Home in Shelley, Idaho to Reed and Marie Anderson on January 4, 1948. She graduated from Shelley High School in 1966 and was voted Miss Personality, played in the band, sang in the choir and a sextet.

Nancy traveled extensively after volunteering for the Red Cross and going to Vietnam during the war.

She returned to University of Idaho majoring in journalism where she met and married Nicholas Nead in the Idaho Falls, Idaho LDS Temple in September 1974. Nancy and Nick had 4 children in the 5 years of their marriage; Nichole Jolene, Jessica Marie, Spencer Ellsworth, and Kelly Scott. Being a single parent was difficult but she gave her whole life in service to her children to insure their happiness and success.

Nancy went back to school at Idaho State University, while a single mom, and finished her degree in elementary education. She decided being a teacher would put her on the same schedule as her children and that is how all her life decision were made.

In 1989 Nancy moved her family to Teton Valley Idaho when she took a job as a 1

grade teacher. The next 20 years in “The Valley” really shaped her family. She attended ball games and ball games and ball games, was an amazing teacher, started and ran the first basketball little league and was the mayor of Tetonia.

Her family is her legacy with both boys fulfilling honorable LDS missions. All her children are now happily married to amazing spouses, active in the LDS church and continuing on Nancy’s legacy with 14 grandchildren.

at 5:39pm after a valiant 3 year battle with breast cancer. She passed through the veil at her daughter Nichole’s home in McCall, Idaho after a final beautiful drive through the mountains with her son Spencer. She is survived by her children Nichole & Ned Crossley with their 2 boys, Jessica & Tommy Cardon with his daughter, Spencer & Summer Nead with their 3 boys and 2 girls, and Kelly and Rebecca Nead with their 3 boys and 3 girls.

Funeral services will be at the Tetonia LDS Church Saturday July 5
