Neil Odell Dye

Neil Odell Dye, 76, of Shelley passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home in Shelley.

Odell was born October 4, 1938 in Presto. Idaho to Jesse Reese Dye and Beatrice Freeman Dye. He attended school in Shelley.

Odell served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Southwest Indian, Arizona Mission.

On May 7, 1965, he married Diana Lee McIntier in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised five children.

Odell worked as the Manager of the Snake River Valley Irrigation District, Bingham County Weed Supervisor, and a meter reader for the City of Idaho Falls. He also worked in Hemet, California for Tibbitts Construction.

Odell enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, fishing, and hunting. Other interests included airplanes, golf and panning for gold.

Odell is survived by his sisters - Pearl (Darwin) Young of Moreland and Lois (Melvin) Thompson of Shelley; brothers - Jesse (Marsha) Dye of Shelley, Ronald (Doris) Dye of Island Park and Bruce (Joyce) Dye of Rexburg; children – Sheila (Darryl) Mathews of Idaho Falls, Jonna (Dan) Nielsen of Idaho Falls, Vickie (Fred) Hight of Idaho Falls, Kim (Kristine) Dye of Shelley and Beverly (Paul) Mayes of Idaho Falls. 13 Grandchildren; Christopher, Kayla, Tristan, Scott, Samantha, KyLee, Talon, Shelby, Cody. Shawn, Kory, Kyle and Kalvin. 3 Great Grandchildren; Damon, Kaitlyn and Evelyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank One Source Hospice and Dr. Brad Adams. A special thanks to Erica, Meagan and Kathy.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
