Neil Scott Weatherston, age 60, died of cancer on December 7, 2017, in Shelley, Idaho at his home with his loving wife (Peggy) at his side.
Neil is survived by his wife Peggy (Taysom), of Shelley, Idaho; his daughter, Cherie (Bryan) Nelson, of St. George, Utah; his sisters, Ann Walker of Firth, Carol (Ted) Christensen of Blackfoot; Lyndy (Joe) Dominick of Ontario, Oregon; and his brother, Bruce (Lynnell) Weatherston of Roosevelt, Utah.
Neil was born on July 10, 1957 in Shelley, Idaho, to his parents Genevieve (Nalder) and Heber Clyde Weatherston.
Neil graduated from Firth High School and attended BYU for a short time and then was hired at Sheehan’s Metal. Neil played sports in High School and enjoyed many good times with friends and family. Neil married Shannon Bush, but later divorced. Neil was a loving father to Cherie. On October 8, 1981, Neil was injured in an automobile accident that left him living the rest of his life in a wheel chair. He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a testimony of his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and looked forward to a reunion with loved ones gone before.
Neil lived a healthy and happy life for 36 years in his wheel chair, and many of those years his loving mother was his strength and support. He met the love of his life, Peggy Taysom while living in Goshen. They were married on October 10, 2010, and later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 29, 2014. Peggy loved and served Neil happily. Neil shared the love of Peggy’s children: Seth Elijah of North Carolina; Sadie (Brandon) Budge of Colorado; Sy (Marissa) Elijah of Colorado; Shane (Stacey) Mitchell of Firth; Sam (Kyla) Ramirez of Hagerman, Idaho. Neil expressed his love and appreciation to Peggy for those 7 happy years together. Neil had a fun sense of humor and never complained of his challenge. He served when and where he was asked. We will miss his stature in spirit and enduring.
Neil’s grandchildren are: Andrae, Jaiden, Alliyah, Jordan, Maddy, Karter, Hudson, Alain, Preceis, Evangelina, Hollis, Prim, and Shaylee.
