Neva Jones

Neva Olaveson Jones, 81, of Firth, died Sunday March 28th, 2010 in Boise, Idaho at the home of her son Howard Jones.

She was born April 2nd, 1928 in Menan, Idaho, daughter of Hans Emanuel Olaveson and Martha Denning Olaveson.

Neva was known for her artistry in oil painting and quilt making, and her home baked goods were revered by many, especially her home-made bread.  She enjoyed bowling and gardening, and loved bird watching and fishing.

She was proud that her first full-time job was as a telephone switchboard operator, and in the 1970's she worked as a substitute teacher for the Groveland School near Blackfoot, Idaho.  She also taught 4-H knitting during the summer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 11 brothers and sisters, and her husband, Carl Thomas Jones.

Neva is survived by three sisters and one brother; Edith Crook of Idaho Falls; Nadine High of Blackfoot; Joyce Stallings of Rigby; and Dell Olaveson of Annis.  She has three surviving sons, Richard Jones of Boise; Robert Jones of Firth; and Howard Jones of Boise.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday April 3, 2010 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. and Saturday 12:00 till 12:45 P.M. before the services at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
