Our beloved husband, father, brother, friend, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on March 16, 2017.
Nick was born on Dec. 30, 1953, to Max and Mary-Ann Sievers in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He grew up in Ucon, Idaho. Nick was a member of the LDS church and earned his Eagle Scout.
Nick married Holly Gallup in 1978. To this union was born Hiedi in 1979.
Nick joined the United States Air Force in 1980. After basic training, he was stationed in Rhein-Main, Germany, for three years. He returned to the U.S. and was stationed in Mountain Home Air Force Base for seven years. After leaving the Air Force, Nick and his family moved back to Idaho Falls area. Nick worked for Qwest until he retired. Nick loved to hunt, fish, golf and play fast-pitch softball. Playing pool and bowling were his favorite things to do.
Nick was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Idaho Falls. He enjoyed spending time there and was a friend to each and every person who walked through the door. Everybody there will remember "Fred," especially the little guys he taught to play pool.
Nick is survived by this wife, Holly (Gallup) Sievers; daughter, Hiedi Darin (Wray) of Idaho Falls; sister, Leslee (Jerry) Carpenter, of Idaho Falls; brother, Randy (Angela) Sievers, of Idaho Falls; and four grandkids, Austin and Kaitlyn Furukawa, Brayden Smith and Jayden Wray.
There will be a celebration of life for family and friends Saturday, April 1, at the Eagles Lodge, 635 Hemmett Drive, Idaho Falls, Idaho, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m
