Noel D Gotch

Noel D. Gotch, 90, of Shelley, Idaho succumbed to lung cancer at home on December 28, 2016.

Noel was born September 7, 1926 in Jameston, Idaho to Adolf and Eva (Arave) Gotch. He had 9 siblings and grew up in Jameston, on a farm. He spent his childhood working hard on the farm and his favorite childhood pastime was fishing and camping at Yellowstone Lake.

Noel joined the army at 18 where he served in Germany. Noel’s first wife Betty Inman Gotch and infant daughter passed away during childbirth. Noel married the love of his life Joanne Leonardson on February 2 1952. They had 2 children Dwain and Denise.

Noel worked as a masonry contractor for 40+ years. He enjoyed travel, sports, especially football, rodeos, and fishing. He loved watching westerns, and being outdoors in the mountains. He was known for his hard work and his love for his family.

Noel is survived by his wife Joanne of 64 years, son Dwain (Jodi), daughter Denise, Grandchildren; Shelise, Mathew (Amber), Conley (Kristen), Bryce, and many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Noel was a loving father, husband, grandfather and great grandfather.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Taylor Cemetery with military rites by David B. Bleak Post 93 and the Idaho Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11:30 till 12:30 before the services at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.
