Norma Carlson Butler died peacefully in her home March 26, 2017 at 80 years of age.
She was born August 20, 1936 to Fredrick W. and Beatrice Cox Carlson and was a life long resident of Shelley, Idaho. She graduated from Shelley High School. She married her sweetheart Orval D. Butler on October 15, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Together she and Orval raised a successful family while being very active providing service to others in numerous callings though out most organizations within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She attended Ricks College and graduated in 1988 and was able to fulfill a life long dream of obtaining her RN license. She worked several years at EIRMC.
Norma touched numerous lives and beautified many homes as she shared her artistic gifts with others. Her beautiful paintings are prominently displayed in many homes. She enjoyed making porcelain art pieces and antique reproduction dolls complete with dresses custom designed and sewn by her. Beautifying her home and working in her rose gardens brought her joy and satisfaction.
She is survived by her siblings; Jeniece Bowman, Fredrick Carlson, Bonnie France and Brent Carlson, her children; Lori Jolley, DeeAnn Goodwin, Mark Butler and Paul Butler, her 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak, Shelley. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
