Penny Christensen

Penny Christensen, 62, of Shelley passed away June 9, 2018 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 29, 1955 in Price, Utah to Thomas Rodney and Annabelle Atwood Holdaway.

Penny received a Bachelor’s Degree from Utah State University. She taught school in St. Anthony for 12 years. She was a developmental specialist at Developmental Work Shop where she loved working with handicapped adults.

She married Dennis Christensen on June 7, 2002 in St. Anthony, Idaho.

She was a member or the Snake River Off roaders Jeep Club.

Penny was a mother of four boys, step mother of two boys and two girls and has 22 grandchildren.

She loved the outdoors and spending time with her husband and friends. She loved her family and would do anything for them. She was so easy to love.

Penny suffered a blood clot that came out of her aorta November 8, 2017 that went into her kidney, right femoral artery and into all of her digestive system, which was very painful. She spent most of the next seven months in the hospital battling complications with her digestive system that finally failed.

She is survived by her husband Dennis of Shelley, Idaho; sons, Daniel Bowen and Brent (Lauren) Bowen of California, Matthew (Emma) Bowen of Salem, Idaho, Jacob Bowen of California, step children, Lacie (Josh) Price of Pennsylvania, Jory (Kim) Christensen of Rigby, Idaho, Coby (Kelley) Christensen of Iona, Idaho, Destiny (Jackson) Hampton of Shelley, Idaho, mother, Annabelle Cox of Price, Utah, siblings, Thomas (Loyette) Holdaway of Huntington, Utah, Anna Lee (Ray) Sorenson of Price, Utah, Rodney William (Janine) Holdaway of Ogden, Utah, Tim (Richele) Holdaway and 22 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Shelley Stake Center (325 East Locust). The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday 12:30 till 1:40 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
