Phill A. Worlton, 83, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2010 at The Gables Assisted Living Center in Shelley, Idaho.
Phill was born October 5, 1927 to James T. and Eulalia Jensen Worlton. He was the fourth of five children. Phill attended elementary school at the North Salem School and later graduated from Sugar-Salem High School.
On November 1, 1946 Phill married Belva Parkinson in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union were born 5 children including two sets of twins.
Phill enjoyed working on his small farm acreage in Salem, for Safeway, Orange Freight and Cal Pack Companies. Phill worked for Utah Power & Light for 38 years retiring in 1985 as Shelley District Manager.
Phill was an active member of the LDS church and served in numerous callings including Bishop of the Salem Ward.
Phill was active in civic and community affairs serving on various boards including, school board chairman, Shelley City Council and was past Mayor of Shelley.
Phill and Belva enjoyed traveling throughout the world, surviving an earthquake in Mexico City. They enjoyed their cabin at Henry’s Lake and wintering in Mesa, AZ.
Phill was preceded in death by his wife, Belva, his parents, brothers Jay & Kyle and sister Rula.
Phill is survived by his children; Linda (Terry) Pollard of Boise; Brenda (Walt) Sayer of Chandler, AZ; Brent (Jennifer) of Maricopa, AZ; Paula (Ralph) Isom of Idaho Falls; and Paul (Kim) of Shelley; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and sister Ritta Withers of Kennewick, WA.
A viewing will be held in his honor Saturday October 23, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, Shelley, Idaho. Graveside services will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
