Randy Charles Criddle, age 63, of Shelley Idaho passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday June 16, 2015.
Randy was born on November 29, 1951 to Alvin Habbeshaw Criddle and Annice Marjorie Frandsen Criddle in Shelley Idaho. He was raised in Basalt, Idaho and graduated from Firth High School in 1970. Upon graduating high school he joined the United States Air force where he became an airplane mechanic in Great Falls, MT. While in the Air force Randy married his High School sweetheart Sonja Tschikof on November 9, 1973. They were married for 41 years. After finishing his duty in the air force they moved back to Shelley where they built a home and raised their family.
Randy worked as a security guard at the Tonapah test range in Nevada, but only worked there for a year because he missed being away from his family and didn’t believe that moving them to Nevada would be a good place to raise his children. After he came back he built a career at the Idaho National Laboratory where he started as a security guard, then moved up to Maintence Operator and later became a Boiler Operator until he retired.
Randy was very electronically inclined and his hobbies included working on computers, televisions and stereo.
The neighborhood knew whenever he was home because you could hear the base in his stereo a block away. One of the things he enjoyed most on his spare time was working with his friend at Paul’s Audisee installing car stereos. Randy loved spending time with his wife and they spent countless hours working together landscaping and remodeling their home and going on countless road trips.
Randy adored his grandchildren and spending time with them and playing with them. Most of all Randy’s family will always remember him as a man of integrity with a gentle spirit.
He is survived by (wife) Sonja Tschikof, Melissa (George) Gorton of Boise, Shawn (Kristee) Criddle of Shelley and Jeanette (Arlen) Day of Woodville. He is also survived by brothers Craig Criddle of Draper, UT, Lane Criddle of Rigby, ID and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Alvin and Marjorie Criddle, brother Delone Criddle and daughter Jessica Criddle.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday June 19
