Rayola Andersen Killian Strong of Idaho Falls, Idaho, has left this mortal life to rejoin her loved ones after a lingering illness. She left this earthly life at age 74 on September 18, 2012 from her home at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Center.
Rayola was born October 22, 1937 in Rigby, ID to Raymond and Evelyn Andersen, the eldest of seven children. She attended school in Rigby and graduated from Rigby High School in 1955. She attended Ricks College for one year before getting married to Ira Howard Killian from Annis, ID on March 9, 1956. She worked several jobs helping Howard get through school. After he graduated and started teaching in Las Vegas, she went back to school and received her master’s degree from the University of Las Vegas. She taught in elementary schools in Henderson, NV for 36 years. She was a very devoted teacher and loved children.
She had three precious children of her own, Steven Howard, Cindy Rae and Sandra. She was a member of the LDS Church and held many positions. She and Howard divorced and she then met and married Jerry Strong of Las Vegas. They were later divorced. Rayola retired from teaching in 2002. She moved back home to Idaho in 2007 to be near her family. At the time of her passing, she was under the loving care of Solace Home Health and Hospice.
Survivors include her children: Steven Howard Killian of Las Vegas, NV; Cindy Rae Bosacker of Denver, CO; Sandra Savage of Las Vegas, NV and four grandchildren. Siblings include Barbra Williams (Harvey) of Ashton, ID; Delila Griffin (Wayne) of Shelley, ID; Raymond Lamar Andersen (Judy) of Salt Lake City, UT; Rosa Ann Dye (Roger) of Firth, ID; Merlin Kay Andersen (Debra) of Firth, ID; and Vaughn Lynn Andersen (Galene) of Inkom, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Firth Ward Chapel, 744 N 600 E in Firth. The family will visit with friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 p.m. at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 West Oak Street, in Shelley and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
