Robert H Campbell

May 17, 1951 — September 18, 2014

On Sep. 18, 2014, Heaven welcomed home an amazing man as Robert H Campbell passed away from a sudden heart attack in the mountains near Kimberly, ID while doing what he loved, coaching.

He was born May 17, 1951, in Shelley, Idaho to David O’dell and Leah Campbell. He attended school and graduated from Shelley High School. He was an extremely hard working, creative, and driven man who always found a way to inspire and bring the best out of people. He had an absolute passion for life and was full of ideas and creativity which he passed on to his family and many who had the privilege of knowing him.

He worked as an educator, coach, and leader by profession but the knowledge he passed on and influence on others went well beyond the school. He loved the individual relationships that he was able to build with children and athletes with whom he taught and coached and treated them like they were family.

He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully within the church throughout his life. He loved gardening, fishing, camping, archery, and spending time in the outdoors with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Campbell; children, Melissa Waite, Shane Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Robyn Glazner, Sid Campbell, Mindy Mason, Amber Russell and Ocho along with wonderful sons and daughters in law and 31 very special grandchildren; and siblings, Gene Peterson, Bonnita Romrell, Rose Hansen, Lester Campbell and Bruce Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David O'dell and Leah; siblings, Wendell, David, Perry, Van, and twins, Dorothy and Doris Campbell; and daughter-in-law Jozette Campbell.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sep. 25, at the Shelley LDS South Stake Center, 675 S. Milton Ave., with Bishop Nathan Kohler conducting. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak St. in Shelley, and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
