Robert “Bud” Levi Simpson, 92, of Shelley passed away from a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s on October 23, 2017 at Morning Star Senior living center reflections unit.
Bud was born November 14, 1924, in Shelley, Idaho to Charles Francis Simpson and Mary Lavon Cox Simpson. He grew up, ranched, farmed and raised his family in the Jameston – Taylor area.
In February of 1945, he joined the US Army and served during the occupation of Japan. He was honorably discharged in November of 1946
On June 3, 1948 he married Vida Adell McAffee in Pocatello, Idaho. In 1953 they were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Bud was an accomplished artist and cattleman. His family and grandchildren were the the joy of his life.
Bud is survived by his son Craig (Shelley) Simpson of Idah Falls: daughters Christy Lingle of Lake City, PA and Nadine Wells of Ammon. 16 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren.
Bud was preceded in death by his loving wife, parents a daughter Kathy and 4 grandchildren.
The family would like to express their heart felt gratitude to the Morning Star Memory Care Unit, caregivers staff and the Encompass home health and hospice for their loving, compassionate care during the last year of his life.
Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Taylor Ward Chapel (1101 E 1250 N) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Friday morning form 10:30 till 11:40 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery with Military Rites by the David B. Bleak Post #93 of Shelley.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the Alzheimer Association at alz.org.
