Ronald Reed Richardson

August 19, 1949 — June 16, 2012

Ronald Reed Richardson of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away on June 16, 2012 while camping at Birch Creek in Idaho.

He was born August 19, 1949 to John and Maurine Richardson. Ron grew up in Southern California with his two siblings, Norene and Delia Sue.

Ron married Sandra Altimus on February 5, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have enjoyed 43 memorable years of marriage. After they were married, they lived in El Centro, California where they built a home and raised two children; Linda and James.

Ron was a dedicated and loyal member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). His local union was 569 out of San Diego, California. He enjoyed electrical work and travelled all over the country but always held his union card in San Diego. His work was a large portion of who he was. He thrived in the electrical industry for over 35 years. Throughout the 35 years he has build strong friendships with many of his union brothers and sister in the trade. Ron fully retired from the union last year and has been enjoying life with his wife in Idaho.

Ron loved life and adventure to the fullest. During his life time he traveled all over the United States and Canada. During his travel he expressed how much he loved Alaska and Idaho. He always found the best places to camp, fly fish, gold dredge and metal detect. He loved to take the quads on long rides down trails he'd never been on. He enjoyed sharing his adventures with this family and friends.

Ron is survived by his wife Sandra, his daughter Linda, his son James and daughter in law Dawn. He is also survived by many loving family members such as his two granddaughters Samantha and Rebecca, two grandsons, Matthew and Ryan, his sisters Norene and Delia Sue and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and great friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, mother and his grandson Justin.

Ron's final wishes were to be cremated and placed to rest in the Salmon River -- the river of no return wilderness, in Idaho. He wanted to spend his eternity in Gods Country strolling the riverbeds and white water rapids for the ride of a life time. A remembrance plaque will be placed in Idaho in the future.
