Roy Allen Herres Jr., 69, of Shelley joined his Heavenly Father on June 20, 2017 unexpectedly at home.
Allen was born in Blackfoot, the last of three children to Roy and Donna Herres.
He married Mary Ann Grey. They were later divorced. On October 4, 1988 he married JaNell Bronson Ockerman. She passed away in an automobile accident. Allen married Asenath “Rusty” Parker Herres on August 2, 1997.
Allen served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved hunting, camping, fishing and most of all spending time with his wife, children and family. Allen was very active in the LDS church. He donated his time and work to several charities and organizations.
Allen was a professional artist for 50 years, bringing joy with every piece he created. His art work was sought out by other artists, actors, politicians, musicians and loved ones. Allen always said that his art was God’s work, he was just the tool. Allen once wrote my works are my legacy, what I leave behind in this life and after I am gone for others to remember me by.
All who met him fell in love with his good nature and personality. He was the kindest most loving generous man you would have known. He would have done anything for anyone, even if it meant he went without.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved. Rest in peace our dear husband, daddy, grandpa, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife Asenath “Rusty”; his children Molly, Jamie, Jason, Ambri,
Kevin, Sonja and Tisha; Sisters Renee and Fayi. 25 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren
