Samuel Jaramillo, 81, of Blackfoot, passed away May 22, 2008, at Bingham Extended Care Facility.
He was born May 9, 1927 in
Del Norte
,
Colorado
to Si and Emma Martinez Jaramillo.
Sam moved to
Idaho
in 1938 and worked a lot of the farms around the area.
He met and married Marlene Staples from
Goshen
in 1951.
They had 11 children and were together until 1997 when she passed away.
He entered the service in 1945 at the age of 18 and was a Military Policeman in the
Philippines
.
Sam enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.
He is survived by his children; Si (Susan) Jaramillo of Idaho Falls; Veronica (Gene) Bradley of Firth; Viola (Floyd) McNutt of Idaho Falls; Dell Jaramillo of Mesquite, Nevada; Mary (Dan) Nelson of Blackfoot; Estella Lockyer of Shelley; Jenny (Ted) Jensen of Firth; Sam Jaramillo of Blackfoot; Paul (Janell) Jaramillo of Dubois; Vincent Jaramillo of Blackfoot; Leonard Jaramillo of Blackfoot; one brother, Lee (Shannon) Jaramillo of Menan; sister, Rosalie of Shelley, 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Charley, Agnes, Raymondo, and Fedele.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 27, 2008 at the
Shelley
Hillcrest
Cemetery
under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.
Military rites will be preformed by the American Legion Post 93 of Shelley.
