Sandi Jo Whiting, 45, of Shelley, passed away January 9, 2011 at her home from a lingering illness.
She was born April 22, 1965 in Canoga Park, California to Richard Bert and Edith Juanita Rawson Whiting.
Sandi graduated from Shelley High School in 1983. She attended BYU-Idaho (Ricks), graduating with a one year office certificate and then later went to EITC for two years and received her associates degree in accounting. She enjoyed working in that field for many years and was very accomplished at it. She was very good working with computers and spent a lot of time helping family members learn.
Sandi touched many lives with her caring and loving acts of kindness. She had very special friends that she loved and that loved her. They enjoyed many times together.
The biggest pleasure she received in life was her nieces and nephews, Brandon, Jacob, Emily, Ethan, Ashley, Megan, Makenzie, Andrew and Ainsley. She also had a special place in her heart for her niece, Tazia who preceded her in death. They were number one in her life. She loved them as her own children, loved doing things for them, with them, and taking pictures of them. She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity of going to Hawaii. She enjoyed visiting California and especially the trip to Disneyland with her sister’s family.
Sandi was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She lived in Idaho her whole life.
She is survived by her parents of Shelley; siblings, Jolene Whiting of Shelley; Julie (Stuart) Kraus of Rupert; Carl (Margie) Whiting and Bart (Leann) Whiting both of Idaho Falls.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday January 14
th
at the Shelley South Stake Center (675 South Milton). The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Friday from 11:30 to 12:40 P.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
