Shanna Marie Mathews

Shanna Marie Mathews 26 years old, life time Shelley resident, died in her home, Wednesday morning following multiple health concerns and undetermined causes.   Shanna was born in Idaho Falls, to Darren and Patti Mathews, on July 6th 1980.

Shanna attend school at Shelley and Firth from Grammar School through High School. Teachers often described Shanna as energetic, pleasant to be around and a social butterfly. Friends and classmates alike would probably describe Shanna as having an attitude and a sense of humor, sometimes finding it hard to distinguish the two. Shanna was employed by KJ’s Quick Stop in Idaho Falls, for many years. Shanna and Josh Wood were the parents of two young daughters.  

Shanna was loved dearly and will be missed deeply by her immediate and extended family and younger siblings. Shanna is survived by her children Tyann Morggin Wood, 8, and Taya McKae Wood, 4, siblings Chelsy and Cameron Mathews of Shelley, and step-sister, Nikki Gneiting, older step-brothers, Daniel Gneiting (Nichole), of Idaho Falls, and Jesse Gneiting (Jennifer), of Franklinville, NC. Her father, Darren Mathews, and mother, Patti Mathews(Tracy Gneiting), also of Shelley. Grandparents Gary and Elnora Covert, and Dale Mathews, of Shelley, and Vernon and Trudy Schow of Kemmerer Wyoming. Josh Wood and Russel Wood, (Linda), of Idaho Falls, Nancy Wood, Deidre Wood, and Rozelyn Wood of California, Andrea D. Fall(Malick), and Seth Wood, Boston, MA, and Daniel Wood, Provo, UT.  Shanna was proceeded in death by her grandmother Bernice Mathews and Uncle David Mathews.  

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday June 4, 2007 at Nalder Funeral Home  (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. and Monday morning 10:00 till 10:45 at Nalder Funeral Home.
