Sheral Stewart Morgan

Sheral Stewart Morgan, 82, of Shelley passed away peacefully February 7, 2017 surrounded by family.

Sheral was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, November 23, 1934 to Alvin E. and Sarah Anna Barnhart Morgan. Growing up, he lived in Osgood, Salmon, and Thornton and went to Idaho Falls, Salmon, and Rexburg High Schools (graduating from Rexburg).

Sheral had a brother, Elmo Morgan, sister, Joyce Owen who preceded him in death, his sister, Vada Burden lives in Idaho Falls.

Sheral married Melba Marie Ohman in 1956 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They settled in Shelley on a farm where they enjoyed raising their four children, Susan (Randy) Aycock of Fort Collins, Colorado, Rex (Linda) Morgan of Salt Lake City, Utah, Connie (John) Sheppard of Rigby, Tom (Sandy) Morgan of Shelley. Sadly, Melba preceded him in death in 1978. A 10 year marriage to Julie Storer Rasmussen ended in divorce. Happily, he married Nelda Porter Evans in 1990 and her five children joined the family. They are Mark (Christel) Evans, Travis (Sheila) Evans, Pam (Hal) Silzly all of Blackfoot, Lance (Tami) Evans and Dan (Trisha) Evans both of Spokane, Washington area.

Sheral is also survived by 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, 16 step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.

Sheral worked most of his career driving truck for Amcor during the day and farming in the evenings.

His family enjoyed a great life together, exploring Idaho and much of the west. He was an accomplished outdoorsman who loved riding his motorcycle, hunting and fishing, and seeing the great outdoors.

Sheral and Nelda enjoyed many wonderful retirement years, building a cabin in Island Park with family, gardening and spending time with family and friends. He was particularly fond of gathering with his friends once a week. They called this gathering “the board meeting.”

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Shelley 10th Ward Chapel (1555 North 700 East) Shelley. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 9:30 till 10:40 a.m. at the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Cemetery.
