Shirley Kelley

Shirley Hampton Kelley, 85, of Shelley, Idaho passed away at her home on October 2

,

2015 in the loving care of her family.

She was born October 7, 1929 to Dick and Ida Hampton.  She was born in Jameston, Idaho and graduated from Shelley High School.

She married John Kelley January 10, 1950 in the Idaho Falls, LDS temple.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many church positions.

She was a loving mother and wife who enjoyed being with her family, riding with her husband as he visited farms throughout the Snake River Valley and enjoyed studying and learning. She was very much respected and loved by everyone she associated with.

Survivors include her sons: Kenneth (Vicki) Kelley, Richard Kelley (widowed), and Jack (Debbie) Kelley of Idaho Falls and daughters: Jane (Richard) Marcum of Chicago, IL, Joan (Carl) Van Tassell of Rupert. 18 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Her sister, Bonnie Kelley and sister-in-law Judy Hampton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Kelley; brother, Bill Hampton; brother-in-law, Gene Kelley; daughter-in-law Mary wife of Richard Kelley and grandson Kay Kelley.

There will be a viewing Sunday, October 4

at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Monday, October 5

th

from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jameston/Taylor Ward Building (1101 East 1250 North in Shelley), with funeral services following at 11:00.  Interment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Shelley.
