Steven G. Rasmussen

Steven G. Rasmussen, 71, of Shelley passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024 in Idaho Falls. 

Steve was born on July 3, 1953 and grew up in Taylor. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1971.

Steve met Catherine Staples and they got married in April 1987. They made their home in Shelley where they raised their three daughters. They later divorced. 

Steve was a logger for Garland Call Pole for many years before moving to Boise Cascade as a forklift operator. 

Steve was a kid at heart. He was often found teasing the people he loved the most. In his earlier years he found joy in hunting, fishing and taking drives up in the hills. Later in life you could find him taking walks around Shelley, reading a good Louis Lamor book or watching any western. But spending time with his grandkids is what he enjoyed the most.

He is survived by his three daughters; Mindy (Chris) Schwartz of Brainerd MN, Ashley (Alex) Lewis of Shelley, Charity (Cody) Winterbottom of Shelley, nine grandkids, two great grandsons, two brothers, Jim and Keith and a sister, Sonja. Along with many nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Verlene Rasmussen, a brother, Kelly Jo, sisters, Barbara and Mary, three nephews and his best friend, Alfred Tschikof. 

The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2024 from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
