Steven Vern Ockerman returned to his Heavenly Home and was reunited with his family.
He was born April 22, 1947 in Shelley, Idaho to Melvin Vern and Jennie Idonna Eaton Ockerman.
He married Carolyn Beck in July of 1966, together they had 3 children; Stephanie, Angelee and Eric. They were married 19 years.
He married again in 1986 to Evelyn Butler, they were married for 19 years. They did not have any children together, however he loved Evelyn’s daughters, Annette and Michelle as if they were his own.
Steven graduated from BYU with a Degree in Computer Science. He owned his own computer business working with small hospitals in Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. After retiring from his computer business, he started a new adventure in Emu Farming. He loved raising Emu’s. He enjoyed giving the local school kids a hands-on experience with his Emu’s.
He enjoyed camping, gardening and fishing. He looked forward to his trips to Alaska with his brothers and close friends.
He had been working at Flags West in Downy. He loved seeing friends and family stop by the gas station just to say hello. He had a remarkable gift of making friends with everyone he met.
Survived by his children Stephanie (Clark) Ward of Herriman, Utah Angelee Ockerman of Herriman, Utah and Eric Steven Ockerman of Shelley, Idaho. Four grandchildren; Aubrey Ieremia of Herriman, Utah, Zachary Ward of Herriman, Utah, Mattie Ward of Herriman, Utah and Jeffrey (Tessa) Ward of Blackfoot, Idaho. One great grandchild Chloe Ward. Siblings; Dennis Ockerman, Janice Peterson, Jerald Ockerman, Kristy Whitmill, and Brad Ockerman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vern and Idonna Ockerman.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM, Monday June 4th at Nalder Funeral Home. 110 West Oak Shelley, Idaho. The family and friends can visit between 10:30 to 11:00. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 793 E. 1200 N. in Shelley, Idaho.
Friends and Family are invited to a luncheon held at The Shelley LDS Church, 184 N. Park Ave. in Shelley.
