Theo Elaine Fielding

March 21, 1915 — October 27, 2015

Theo Elaine Fielding, 100, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Fairwinds in Idaho Falls.

Theo was born March 21, 1915 in Shelley, Idaho to Arthur and Bessie Oliver.  She attended schools in Shelley, and graduated from Shelley High School in 1933.  Her love was playing basketball and was very good at it because of her quickness and agility.  That quickness never stopped throughout her many roles in her life.  She was a fire cracker.

She married Harold Fielding (deceased) in Shelley on November 13, 1938.  She worked on a farm for many years with her husband.  Early in life she worked as a telephone operator and later at local businesses including Kings, Western Store, and Moulton Drug for 29 years out of the 35 it was in business.

She was very compassionate and loved people especially her family.  Many loyal friends mentioned how they loved her and what a special friend she was.  She enjoyed sewing, card playing (to the end of her life), and making candy, deep fried halibut and ice box cakes.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her son, Karl or Johnny (Linda) Fielding of Chandler, Arizona, her daughter, Karleen or Sally (Val) Crow of Ammon, Idaho, and her daughter, Coy (Louis) Gunerud of Idaho Falls, Idaho, 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 17 great-great grandchildren.

Theo was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Bernice Arave and Ila McKenna, and her husband, Harold Fielding.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will meet with friends Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday morning from 9:30 till 10:45 A.M. both at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shelley Hillcrest Cemetery.
