Thomas John Hasibar Sr.

Thomas Murtha (John) Hasibar, 80, passed away May 2, 2018 at his son’s home in Shelley, Idaho.

Thomas was born on July 21, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to Louis Joseph and Burnadette Spencer Hasibar. He was the third of four children.

He grew up and attended school in the Chicago area and graduated from Tilden High School. Following graduation he joined the Marines and served his country for five years.

He married Elaine Meyer on February 19, 1962. They had two sons, Tom and Mike.

Tommy retired as a short haul truck driver after 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golf, and playing cards in his spare time.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and his wife.

He is survived by his son, Thomas John (Elayne) Hasibar, of Shelley, Idaho, Michael Louis Hasibar of Chicago, Illinois and grandchildren, Shane and Charity.

The family will meet with friends Friday, May 4, 2018 from 6:00 till 7:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley, Idaho. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday May 9, 2018 at Hackmann Funeral Home in Bellevue, Iowa. The family will receive Tuesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning from 9:00 till 10:00 AM at Hackmann Funeral Home. Interment will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue, Iowa.
