Antony “Tony” Mel Eaton, 52, of Shelley passed away December 31, 2012 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls from a sudden illness. Tony, the youngest of 4 children, was born to Melvin J. Eaton and Colleen Collins on July 8, 1960 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls.
Tony was raised in Shelley where he received his schooling. He spent 6 years in the National Guard and worked as a mixer truck driver for 25 years. He was married twice, first to Beverly Cook of Shelley with whom he had one son, Jeremy Eaton. Then to Becky Charon of North Dakota for 10 years. They had five children together, Scott Antony, Tyler Ray, Joshua James, Ashley Kay, and Chelsea Lynn.
Tony enjoyed all kinds of sports, basketball in high school, water skiing with the family while growing up, learning to play golf with his mother, Colleen and hunting and fishing with his dad, Melvin. Tony took great pride in being the only one of his siblings to become as good a hunter and angler as his dad. His favorite pastime was watching the sports of golf, basketball, Nascar and especially his favorite team the Minnesota Vikings.
Tony was happiest when spending time with his children and grandchildren. Tony loved the outdoors especially when camping, hunting and fishing with his sons. He loved watching movies with his daughters. It was always a special treat when his son Jeremy and his family were in town.
Tony is survived by his children, Jeremy (Amber) Eaton of Hawaii, Tyler (Corttany) Eaton, Joshua (Katelyn) Eaton, Ashley Eaton and Chelsea (Kasey) Eaton of Shelley, Idaho, his sisters, Debra Lee (Jerald G.) Justesen of Tucson, Arizona and Brooks (Mel) Teeples of Layton, Utah and his brother Randy James (Wendy) Eaton of Shelley, Idaho. Tony is also survived by his grandchildren Angela, Jason, Bryson, Annabell, Brodie, Joslyn and Kamryn due in April.
Tony was preceded in death by his son, Scott Anthony Eaton, and his father and mother Melvin J Eaton and Colleen Collins Eaton.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Shelley Fourth Ward Chapel (184 North Park Ave.). The family will meet with friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Saturday morning 9:30 till 10:40 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at the Eastern Idaho Credit Union to the Tony Eaton Memorial Fund.
