Vearle Kay Frandsen passed away July 18
th
2016 at Bingham Memorial Hospital. He was born in Basalt Idaho on July 11, 1940 to Lloyd and Lummie Frandsen. He grew up in Basalt; attended schools in Basalt, Goshen and Firth then college at Ricks, BYU, and U of U. He was an Amoco Oil distributer and an entrepreneur at heart. He loved and appreciated serving his two-year LDS mission to Leeds England! Then he married Dixee Waite in the Idaho Falls temple in June 1962. They had two children, Gaye Frandsen and Todd Kay Frandsen. They spent 23 year raising their family in the Jameston area.
In 1996 he married Diane Crofts and became a father and grandfather to a second family for a grand total of 7 children plus spouses, 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren who loved him so much! Including spouses, he fulfilled his dream of have 13 children. He and Diane lived in Goshen until his passing.
He loved being a member of the LDS Church, and was excited about sharing his testimony of the Gospel to everyone including a wrong number he sent a Book of Mormon to. He served in the church in the Elder’s Quorum presidency, as a Sunday School teacher, Scout leader, High Priest secretary and in many other callings. He especially enjoyed teaching the youth because they kept him young.
He always said the best moments in his life were on top of a horse, either herding cattle, being in the Shelley Riding Russets Posse, hunting or just up in the hills. We can imagine him riding his favorite horse Buckles in the pastures of Heaven.
He is greatly loved by his family and they are grateful for his example, his support of any sort of sporting event they were involved in and his unconditional kindness and friendship. He leaves a rich legacy of love and testimony. We will continue to ask each other “The Gospel is still true?” in his honor.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Rulon Frandsen, a brother-in-law Joel Hill, a grandson Chris Keck and one nephew.
