On Valentine’s Day 2018 Walter Larry Blotter shared a tender farewell with his beloved wife Barbara knowing that they will be together again when the Good Lord sees fit.
Larry was born on December 9, 1937 in Preston, Idaho to Walter Blotter and Rosina Talbot. Larry was the oldest of seven siblings: Alvareta, Beverly, Reed, Steve, Jay, Linda & Janette.
Larry enjoyed spending time on his Grandpa Talbot’s farm as a young boy.
Right out of high school he joined the US Airforce where he was later commissioned overseas to serve in the Philippines assigned to Airforce Intelligence.
After serving his Country, Larry began his new career as a surveyor for Mountain Fuel, then worked for PM Engineers and later founded his own company Bon and Associate. His company designed and detailed industrial and commercial buildings including the Washington LDS temple and Las Vegas MGM Grand. Larry would tell his employees “always give your customers everything you promise them and then a little more”, that was his work ethic and those were the footprints he left for everyone who worked for him.
After retirement Larry spent the majority of his time working in the Temple and doing genealogy research while playing Grandpa on the farm. He was a true cowboy. His passion for horses was life-long. He could shoe them, break them, train them to race, and rope off the back of them. As the ground got harder and the horses taller, Larry spent most of his time handing the reins of horsemanship to his children, grandchildren and even the neighbor kids.
It was part of his legacy to share Christ-like love by giving his time and treasures to the people around him. Husband/Dad/Grandpa/Great-Grandpa/Uncle., you will be deeply missed by us all.
Larry is married to the apple of his eye Barbara (Beard) Blotter and between the two of them they loved their 17 children: Vicki, Doug (Jimmie), Leisa (Ralph), Stacey (Kevin), Holly (Rich), Cindy, Ray, Reed, Howard (Tonya), Brett (Tiffany), Todd (Alicia), Kurt, Tiffany (Eli), Chris (Maria), Devin (Kelly), Blake and Trent; 51 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
