Wanda B. Christensen

Wanda B. Christensen, 77, of Shelley, ID, died March 25, 2007, at her home of natural causes.

She was born February 4, 1930, in Shelley, ID, to Walter Heber Bowler and Alverta Adella Nuttall Bowler.  She was the fourth of five children.  Wanda was raised and attended schools in Shelley.  She attended Business College in Idaho Falls, and took a position as a stenographer at the Idaho Falls LDS hospital.

On July 12, 1949, she married Rolan Ray Christensen in the Idaho Falls LDS temple.  After she was married, she moved to the Jameston area where Rolan was a farmer and carpenter.  It was there they raised their seven children.  She worked for the R. T. French Co. for many years.  She traveled around the country with her husband building monolithic domes.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and served in the Relief Society, Sunday School and Primary.  She was an active visiting teacher up until the time of her death.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years; two sisters, Marjean Hillman of Idaho Falls and Maxine Armstrong of West Valley City, UT; two brothers, Wallace Bowler of Sandy, UT and Richard Bowler of Grandview, TX; and her children Max (Ann) Christensen, Helen (Calvin) Pirtle, both of Shelley; Gary Christensen of Rexburg; Carl (Gina) Christensen of Syracuse, UT; Norma Christensen, Steven (Lisa) Christensen, both of Shelley; Donna (Tom) Wuthrich of Idaho Falls; 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son-in-law, Owen Cramer; and two grandsons, Kevin Cramer and Allan Christensen.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday March 30th at the Taylor Ward Chapel (1101 East 1250 North). The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and Friday 11:30 till 12:40 P.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
