Winona Johnston

Winona Croft Johnston, 84, of Idaho Falls passed away February 3, 2012 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was born July 17, 1927 In Basalt, Idaho to Charles Walter Croft and Maude Jones Croft.  She was the youngest of five children. She had three sisters and one brother.  She attended school at Basalt Elementary and Firth High School. She worked in the potato industry for 25 years. She also received a state of Idaho beautician license.  She owned her own hair salon in Firth.

She met her spouse, James Johnston, while working in Idaho Falls.  They were married in Butte, Montana on September 24, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 07, 1967.  They had one son, Walter.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She served a mission for the Church in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.  She is survived by her son Walter (Deborah), nine grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley.  The family will receive friend’s One hour prior the service at the Funeral Home. Internment will follow at Basalt Cemetery.
