Woodrow Petersen

On Saturday, June 26, 2010, Alma Woodrow Petersen went to join his wife, who preceded him in death.

He was born November 15, 1920, 6th child of 8 to the late Neils Christian “Chris” Joseph and Hulda Jane Teeples Petersen.  He attended school in Firth, Idaho.   On December 21, 1944, he married Donna Chapman in the Logan, Utah temple.

Woodrow was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  In his youth he served a mission in Southern California.  He later served a mission with his wife Donna in Sacramento, California.  Among his callings, as a member, he served as a counselor in the Bishopric, Sunday School President, Gospel Doctrine teacher, Stake financial Clerk, and High Priest Group Leader.

Woodrow was a successful farmer and rancher and loved working with cattle.  He served on the flood control committee for eastern Idaho for many years. He also loved working with wood.

Woodrow is survived by his son, Dee and MarLyn of Firth, Idaho; son, David and Karen of Shelley, Idaho; son, Ray and Mary Ann of Idaho Falls, Idaho; son, Michael and Fraun of Firth, Idaho; daughter, Diana and Craig King of Perry, Utah; daughter, Cindy and Boe Adams of Boise, Idaho;  one sister, Loraine and Von Bolander of Boise, Idaho.  He is further survived by 28 grandchildren and an increasing number of great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents,   four brothers, Elwin, Rueben, Howard, and Dellis, two sisters, Blanche Petersen and Geneva Davies and his daughter, Carolyn Phillips.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, at the Kimball Ward Chapel, 744 N. 600 E. Firth, Idaho, with Bishop Boyd Petersenconducting.  Relatives and friends are welcome for the Viewing Service held at Nalder Funeral Home, 110 W. Oak in Shelley, Idaho, on Tuesday from 7:00 till 8:30 p.m. and at the Kimball Ward Chapel on Wednesday, from 9:00 till 10:40 a.m. 

Interment

will be held at the Goshen Cemetery.
