Our dear mother and friend, Wyvonna Bonnie Coy Van Leerdam, 76, of Shelley was peacefully called home on November 10, 2010 at Life Care Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho surrounded by precious family and friends.
She was born March 24, 1934 in Bedford, Wyoming to Lester J and Harriet Lallathin Coy. She was the youngest of five children. She graduated high school in Star Valley, Wyoming
She married Darrell Kennington and was later divorced. She married DeVere Steed and was later divorced. She married the love of her life, Marion A. Van Leerdam in August of 1971 and enjoyed the happiest 12 years of her life with him, until losing him to lung cancer in June 1983.
She enjoyed ranching with Marion, her job as a detective, and working with friends at Pillsbury. She did volunteer work at the Shelley Senior Citizen Center and cherished her friends there.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She enjoyed being with her family and friends, her many arts and crafts, and the beauty of nature. Her homemade mustard, mustard pickles and jams were loved and appreciated by many.
Her joking and teasing, laughter and smiles will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by four sons, Randy (Cheryl) Coy of Winnemucca, Nevada; Les Van Leerdam of Victor, Idaho; Linden (Twila) Steed of Payson, Utah; Cody “Sid” (Patsey) Steed of Afton, Wyoming; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, son, Lester B Steed, parents, sister, Sybil Cox, brothers, Ralph, Jack and LaRell Coy, and daughter-in-law, Gearldine Jensen Steed.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Dane Dickson and staff of Teton Oncology, Jim and other staff of EIRMC Rehab Center, the very caring nurses, therapist, aids, and staff at Life Care Center.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday November 13, 2010 at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. and Saturday morning 9:00 till 9:45 A.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at 12:30 P.M. in the Cache-Clawson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Shelley Senior Citizens Center or to a Cancer Research Foundation of your choice in her honor.
