Zelda Lois Condie Corless passed away on August 1, 2009, in Delta, Utah, at the age of 92. Zelda was born in Preston, Idaho, on June 27, 1917, to Gideon and Carrie Christina Clausen Condie. She earned a B.S. in home economics from the University of Idaho and an M.A. in education from Brigham Young University. She was greatly respected in her career of twenty years as an English teacher and counselor at Idaho Falls High School. Zelda also served faithfully her entire life in numerous organizations in the LDS Church and particularly enjoyed her service as a temple worker and as a missionary in Hawaii with her husband, John Matthew Corless.
Her greatest joy was her family. She and John married in the Logan Temple and enjoyed 56 years of marriage until he passed away in 1996. They raised six children: Carrie (Paul) Stephenson of Delta, Utah, John (Ronda) of Sacramento, California, Roger (Bethany) of Shelley, Vicki (Kenneth) Kelley of Idaho Falls, Timothy (Karen) of Shelley, and Thomas (Christene) of La Crescenta, California. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren and by her sister, Eileen Stocking of Logan, Utah. In particular, she encouraged her family in their educational and spiritual lives and took great pride in attending the graduations, marriages, and missionary reports of her grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday August 6, 2009 at the Sand Creek Ward Chapel (1101 East 1250 North) with Bishop Ray Hollist, conducting. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 till 8:30 P.M. at Nalder Funeral Home (110 West Oak) in Shelley and 10:00 till 10:45 A.M. before the services at the church. Interment will be in the Taylor Cemetery.
